Baseball Recap: Heights Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Heights's offense. They fell just short of the Blue Valley West Jaguars by a score of 2-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clayton Rittel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Heights is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-8-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Heights saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Aaron, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.

Heights now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Blue Valley West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Heights will venture away from home to take on Northwest at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Blue Valley West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
