Softball Recap: Woodford County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Spencer County last Friday, Woodford County came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets fell 8-4 to the Anderson County Bearcats on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Addie Bryant was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

Woodford County's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-8-1. As for Anderson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Woodford County will head out to square off against Collins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Anderson County, they will host Campbell County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
