Weldon Dunston IV Tops All Others This Week

Starting off the list is Effingham's Weldon Dunston IV, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Dunston IV's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 139 rushing yards dating back to last season. His longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.

For the season, Dunston IV has run in 24 touchdowns while averaging 229.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had 12 rushing touchdowns.

Mahomet-Seymour Gets a Boost from Dyer in 38-14 Victory

Lucas Dyer was instrumental in extending Mahomet-Seymour's winning streak to three on Friday. Dyer was dynamite, throwing for 240 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Dyer is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Effingham on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Dyer saw the Hearts), he threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt.

Baron Odam Puts an End to Taylorville's Losing Streak on Friday

Baron Odam helped snap Taylorville's three-game losing streak. Odam was unstoppable on Friday, rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 158 yards and two touchdowns.

For the year, Odam has thrown 11 touchdowns while averaging 171.8 passing yards per game.

Big Game from Trimble As Mt. Zion Fell 38-14

Brayden Trimble put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He picked up 45 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown.

If history really does repeat itself, Trimble might just drop another big game when he faces off against Charleston on Friday. When Trimble last faced the Trojans back in October of 2023, he rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Cale Kimbro Makes Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Cale Kimbro of Mattoon. Kimbro made nine total tackles. He showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 60 yards.

Kimbro and Mattoon will take on Taylorville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Greenwave had to take a loss when they last met the Tornadoes, but Kimbro had little to do with the loss: he made 16 total tackles. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
