Preview: Bronson Vikings vs. Maple Valley Lions
After four games on the road, Bronson is heading back home. They will take on the Maple Valley Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bronson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Maple Valley in Michigan (Bronson is ranked 190th, while Maple Valley is ranked 495th).
Even though Springport scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Bronson still came out on top. Bronson walked away with a 63-56 victory over Springport. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 6 on the offensive boards, as Bronson did.
Bronson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamron Brackett, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Brackett is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sayler Wotta, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Maple Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 45-34 to Quincy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maple Valley in their matchups with Quincy: they've now lost three in a row.
Bronson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Maple Valley, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6.
Bronson won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in February of 2019, slipping by Maple Valley 62-61. Does Bronson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maple Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
