Basketball Recap: Pittsfield Wins Going Away Against Brattleboro

Pittsfield came into Wednesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 92-68 margin over the Brattleboro Bears on Wednesday. With the Generals ahead 49-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Brattleboro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oscar Korson, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Pittsfield now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Brattleboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pittsfield will face off against Taconic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taconic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Pittsfield likes a good challenge. As for Brattleboro, they will take on Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
