Football Recap: Colonial Has No Trouble Against Ocoee

Colonial never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 14-0 victory over the Ocoee Knights. This was payback for the Grenadiers, who suffered a 7-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Arielys Torres Mendez threw for 40 yards and one touchdown. Zaniya Laboy-Bell was her top target, picking up 40 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Colonial and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.0 point on average over those games. As for Ocoee, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Colonial will head out on the road to challenge Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ocoee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
