Softball Recap: Sky View Comes Up Short

Sky View was the 6-3 winner over Morgan when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats fell 5-2 to the Trojans on Saturday.

Avaree Haramoto was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double.

Haramoto wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Bell, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Eliza Birman was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Sky View's record is now 10-16. As for Morgan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Sky View will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Crest at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morgan, they will head out to challenge Union at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
