Basketball Recap: Ralston Comes Up Short

Ralston lost against Elkhorn back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ralston Rams took a 63-49 bruising from the Elkhorn Antlers. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Ralston lost, don't look at Lamar Rucker. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Eh Wah was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Ralston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Elkhorn was led to victory by Peter Howard and Nixon Farmer. Howard went 8 of 10 on his way to 18 points and four steals, while Farmer went 9 of 15 on his way to 25 points. Those four steals gave Howard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Lamski, who posted eight points and six boards.

Ralston's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Elkhorn, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Ralston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-50 defeat against Gross Catholic on the 20th. As for Elkhorn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-36 victory against Lincoln Northwest on the 20th.
