Soccer Game Preview: Galt vs. Elk Grove

The Galt Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Elk Grove Thundering Herd at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Galt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

Galt's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Turlock. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hayden Miller and Jaylen Mendez scored both of Galt's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Elk Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 4-2 to Central Valley.

Galt has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Elk Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1.

Galt took their victory against Elk Grove in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 by a conclusive 5-0. Will Galt repeat their success, or does Elk Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
