Softball Preview: Millard North Mustangs vs. Omaha South Packers        
        
		
             Millard North has gone 5-0 against Omaha South recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Thursday. The Millard North Mustangs will challenge the Omaha South Packers at 5:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Millard North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of Nebraska's top teams: Papillion-LaVista, who was ranked seventh  in their home state at the time (Millard North was ranked second). Millard North never let Papillion-LaVista onto the board and left with  an   8-0  win  on Tuesday.
  Jadyn Pokorny made a big impact no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Hayden Nelson and  Macey Jarose did most of the damage at the plate:  Nelson  scored a  run while going 2-for-3, while  Jarose  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Abby Beard, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Millard North was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Papillion-LaVista only posted a  batting average of  .062.
 Meanwhile, Omaha South got the win against Burke  last Wednesday by a conclusive  12-4.
 Like Millard North, Omaha South also got a great game from a two-way player:  Vivian Hodoly. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Hodoly was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Esthefany Contreras Suarez was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI.
 Millard North pushed their record up to 21-5 with the  victory, which was their 13th straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Omaha South, their record is now 10-8.
 Both  both  just can't seem to miss. Millard North has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 8.8  hits per game. However, it's not like Omaha South struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 5.4. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Everything went Millard North's way against Omaha South in their previous matchup  back in September of 2022, as Millard North made off with  a  24-1 win. Does  Millard North have another victory up their sleeve, or will Omaha South turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
