Baseball Recap: Troy Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Troy came out on top against Neumann Regional Academy on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Trojans walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Golden Knights.

Evan Woodward was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brendan Gilliland was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Troy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Neumann Regional Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy will host Towanda at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neumann Regional Academy, they will be playing at home against Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
