Softball Preview: A Rolling Lyons Meets a Wounded Resurrection Christian

The Lyons Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Resurrection Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lyons will be strutting in after a victory, while Resurrection Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Lyons proved they can win big with a eight-run win on Monday. On Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against University, sneaking past 6-5.

Lyons' victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Vasquez, who went 2-for-3 while logging 2 RBIs, 1 triple, and 1 run.

Meanwhile, Berthoud hit Resurrection Christian with a 11-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars lost 12-0 to the Spartans.

Resurrection Christian has now lost three of their last four games on the road. That's taken a toll on their 11-8 record this season. As for Lyons, they have now won 13 of their last 17 games at home. That gives them a 14-6 record this season.
