Volleyball Game Preview: Mather Rangers vs. Niles Notre Dame Dons

Mather hasn't had much luck against Niles Notre Dame recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rangers are taking a road trip to square off against the Dons at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mather is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since April 13, 2024 on Friday. They won by a set and slipped past Chicago Sullivan 2-1.

Meanwhile, Niles Notre Dame earned a 2-0 victory over St. Patrick on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Shamrocks: they've now won five in a row.

While Niles Notre Dame won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 26-24.

Mather's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4-1. As for Niles Notre Dame, their record now sits at 9-6.

Mather came up short against Niles Notre Dame in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Rangers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
