Baseball Game Preview: Hobart Brickies vs. Highland Trojans

For the second straight game, Hobart will face off against Highland. The Brickies will be playing at home against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hobart is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Hobart came out on top against Highland on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Brickies blew past the Trojans 9-1.

Alex Martin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martin was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Hobart's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Alexander Mays was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zach Terek, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hobart hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Hobart pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, they moved to 9-11 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
