It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Bend Adams had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Mishawaka Cavemen. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 11-3 win the Cavemen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Angela McNellis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Avery Kidwell was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

South Bend Adams' victory bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Mishawaka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-8 record this season.

As of now, neither South Bend Adams nor Mishawaka have any future games scheduled.
