Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Belleville Tigers

The Lincoln Railsplitters are taking a road trip to take on the Belleville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lincoln made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Plymouth, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Railsplitters fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The Railsplitters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Michael Stone and Connor Sindlinger stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stone went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Sindlinger got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Stone has become a key player for Lincoln: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 10-27 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Belleville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to Novi.

Belleville's loss dropped their record down to 16-16-1. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-29.

Lincoln skirted past Belleville 3-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Railsplitters since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
