Basketball Game Preview: Wapello Indians vs. Columbus Wildcats

Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Columbus' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Winfield-Mt. Union by a score of 53-50. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Wolves are ranked 310th).

Wapello's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Columbus, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 13-2.
