Blytheville is 0-3 against Trumann since October of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Blytheville Chickasaws will be playing at home against the Trumann Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Blytheville is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Blytheville made easy work of Gosnell and carried off a 32-8 win. The result was nothing new for Blytheville, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Blytheville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Courtney Rogers led the charge by rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Jontavious Johnson was another key contributor, rushing for 84 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, Trumann was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 14-8 to Pocahontas.
Loss or not, Trumann got some senior leadership from Jake Osment who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown and Cade Hatton who rushed for 143 yards on only 15 carries.
Blytheville's win lifted them to 5-2 while Trumann's loss dropped them down to 4-3.
Blytheville ended up a good deal behind Trumann when the teams last played back in October of 2022, losing 31-15. Will Blytheville have more luck at home instead of on the road?
