Basketball Recap: Clay-Battelle's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Clay-Battelle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 44-34 victory over the Morgantown Christian Academy Mustangs on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Cee-Bees: when they faced off against the Mustangs two weeks ago, they had to take a 37-34 loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clay-Battelle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ali Hellyer, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine steals. Hellyer is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Bre DeBolt, who posted 14 points and four steals.

Clay-Battelle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

With the win, Clay-Battelle broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-11. As for Morgantown Christian Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Clay-Battelle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-31 victory against Bridgeport on the 6th. As for Morgantown Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Parkersburg Christian at 5:30 p.m. on February 14th.
