Softball Recap: Borrego Springs Rams vs. Julian Eagles        
        
		
            
 After flying high against Julian  last Thursday, Borrego Springs came back down to earth. The Borrego Springs Rams fell just short of the Julian Eagles by a score of  22-21 on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Thursday (15), Borrego Springs still had to take the loss.
  Lylamae Gutierrez was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring four  runs and  stealing five bases while  getting on base  in four of her eight plate appearances.  Mariana Torres was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in five of her ten plate appearances.
 On Julian's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Roice Mendoza, who  got on base  in all seven of her plate appearances with a  home run, five  runs,  and six  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Arianna Simser, who  scored four  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 Borrego Springs' defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 14-5. As for Julian, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a nice bump to their 5-11 record  this season.
 Borrego Springs will be playing at home against Warner at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Warner is coming into the  contest with seven straight  losses on the road,  meaning Borrego Springs will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  victory. Julian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
