Baseball Recap: Riverdale Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Seneca East, Riverdale was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Ada Bulldogs by a score of 9-5. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Riverdale let Justin Gonzales and Kydin Reed run wild. Gonzales went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double, while Reed went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four hits gave Gonzales a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Phelps, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Ada, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverdale will head out to square off against Bluffton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Ada, they will head out on the road to take on Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
