The home team had won the previous four meetings between Velma-Alma and Elmore City-Pernell, and Velma-Alma kept the tradition alive. Velma-Alma narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Elmore City-Pernell 5-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Comets also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.
