Preview: Ridgecroft Rams vs. Oakwood Eagles
The Ridgecroft Rams's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Oakwood Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in Ridgecroft's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Ridgecroft pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Crossroads Christian, falling 93-57. Ridgecroft was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 64-29.
The losing side was boosted by Sawyer Chamblee, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bill Vaughan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Oakwood, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 55-15 loss at the hands of Halifax Academy. Oakwood has struggled against Halifax Academy recently, as their contest on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Ridgecroft's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Oakwood, they bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Ridgecroft strolled past Oakwood when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 60-41. Will Ridgecroft repeat their success, or does Oakwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
