Baseball Recap: North Florida Christian Triumphs

North Florida Christian won the last time they faced Aucilla Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. North Florida Christian came out on top against Aucilla Christian by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Jace Riggan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, North Florida Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brigs Sparkman, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Sparkman a new career-high. Bryson Bond also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

North Florida Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Aucilla Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

North Florida Christian and Aucilla Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. North Florida Christian will take on Maclay at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 210 places (302 vs. 92). Meanwhile, Aucilla Christian (ranked 376th) will meet St. John Paul II (ranked 142nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
