Basketball Game Preview: Patterson Tigers vs. Futures Knights

The Patterson Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Futures Knights at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Patterson is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of East Union by a score of 43-41. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Futures entered their tilt with Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning on Thursday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They really took it to the Fire Wolves for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-38 win. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Futures' win came from a few key players Patterson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Anthoni Moore, who posted 29 points along with five rebounds and four steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Cummings, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Futures has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Patterson, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.
