Baseball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for Glendale Prep Academy

Glendale Prep Academy put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Tonopah Valley Phoenix by a score of 8-4. This was payback for the Griffins, who suffered an 8-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Eli Marsh made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Corbin Kim and Carter Blake did most of the damage at the plate: Kim scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Blake scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Kim has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Joshua Rickey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Glendale Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tonopah Valley only posted an OBP of .344.

Glendale Prep Academy's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Tonopah Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1.

Glendale Prep Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-5 win against Wickenburg on the 14th. As for Tonopah Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Tempe Prep at 3:30 p.m.
