Baseball Recap: Lake Forest Academy Takes a Loss

Lake Forest Academy managed to slip by Francis W. Parker the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Caxys came up short against the Colonels on Wednesday, falling 12-4. The Caxys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Colonels earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Landon Fraser put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Fraser was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Parker Pollak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Lake Forest Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-10 otherwise.

Lake Forest Academy dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Francis W. Parker, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Forest Academy will head out to challenge Waukegan at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Caxys are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 16-game losing streak. As for Francis W. Parker, they will venture away from home to take on Lincoln Park at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
