Basketball Recap: Mount St. Dominic Academy Takes a Loss

Mount St. Dominic Academy played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 65-40 to the West Orange Mountaineers. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Mountaineers: they've now lost nine in a row.

West Orange got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rhyan Watt out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. Watt's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyley Gary-Grayson, who posted 16 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Mount St. Dominic Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for West Orange, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Mount St. Dominic Academy has already played their next game (against Glen Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Orange didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-32 win against Morristown on the 24th.
