Volleyball Recap: Ephrata Comes Up Short

Ephrata was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Elizabethtown Bears.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Elizabethtown scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 19-25, 25-22.

Austin Fries paced Ephrata's offense, picking up 17 kills. Fries got some help from Brayden Fries and his 42 assists. Finally, Brayden was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Ephrata's loss dropped their record down to 5-13-3. As for Elizabethtown, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ephrata will challenge Cocalico at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Elizabethtown, they will face off against Penn Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
