Jack Britt hasn't had much luck against Richmond recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Jack Britt saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailey Crenshaw, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Richmond got the win against Pinecrest on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.
Richmond also got a great performance from Madee Pearson as she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Pearson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hayden Robinson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Lockhart, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Richmond always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Jack Britt's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Richmond, their record now sits at 6-8.
Richmond's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jack Britt has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Richmond, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Jack Britt's sizable advantage in that area, the Raiders will need to find a way to close that gap.
