Volleyball Recap: Winston Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Christ Covenant

There's no place like home for Winston Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Christ Covenant on Monday.

One reason for the win was Winston Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-14.

Caydie White paced Winston Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. White got some help from Maggie Burns and her 17 assists. Sydney Gilmer controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Winston Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Christ Covenant, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Winston Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Heritage Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Christ Covenant, they will welcome Central Hinds Academy at 6:30 p.m. on the 12th.
