Softball Recap: North Hills Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

North Hills had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Mars Fightin' Planets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 back in March.

Abigail Sutton was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, North Hills got a big performance out of Emma Culver, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Natalie Anzaldi also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

North Hills now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mars, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coming up, North Hills will head out to square off against Fox Chapel at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mars, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against New Castle at 3:45 p.m.
