Softball Preview: Pike Central Chargers vs. Washington Hatchets
Pike Central is 9-0 against Washington since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Pike Central Chargers will be staying on the road to face off against the Washington Hatchets at 6:00 p.m. Pike Central will be strutting in after a win while Washington will be coming in after a loss.
Last Monday, it was close, but Pike Central sidestepped North Daviess for a 4-3 victory.
Karley Kavanaugh was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Kavanaugh was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lexie Onyett, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run and two RBI. Lakin Sorgius was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 12-1 walloping at the hands of Tell City.

Pike Central's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
