Softball Recap: Quilcene Extends Winning Streak to Four

Quilcene came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Muckleshoot Tribal Kings. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 16-6 win on Monday.

Cora Canterbury made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Brylee Evans was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Eva Shafer, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.

Quilcene kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Quilcene's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Quilcene will welcome ?Redeemer Christian School at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Muckleshoot Tribal, they will venture away from home to take on Chief Leschi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 23.36 runs per game on average), something the Kings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
