Softball Recap: Orange Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Orange, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on the McKinley Red Dragons with a sharp 10-0 win on Saturday.

Clare Hess made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Hess was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sara Zack, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kelsey Lewis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Orange always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKinley only posted an OBP of .235.

Orange now has a winning record of 8-7. As for McKinley, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Orange beat the Red Dragons by a score of 19-1 later that day.
