Basketball Game Preview: Cordova Lancers vs. Kennedy Cougars

Cordova is 0-3 against Kennedy since December of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Cordova Lancers will square off against the Kennedy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cordova is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Saturday. They were dealt an 82-24 loss at the hands of Inderkum. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 983rd, while the Tigers are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Kennedy suffered their closest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of McClatchy by a score of 61-58. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Cordova, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Cordova came up short against Kennedy when the teams last played on January 8th, falling 60-53. Can Cordova avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
