Football Recap: Pomona Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Pomona unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 31-14 bruising from the Lakeside Lancers on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Robert Arellano was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 54 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 267 yards while completing 76.2% of his passes. A healthy portion of Arellano's aerial production (110 yards to be exact) went to Jaylen Long.

Looking ahead, Pomona will be playing in front of their home fans against Garey at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeside, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tahquitz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
