Basketball Recap: Herlong Vikings vs. Loyalton Grizzlies
This season hasn't been kind to the Herlong Vikings, who are still winless after their 12th game. They were the victim of a rough 69-47 defeat at the hands of Loyalton on Tuesday. Herlong was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.
Aidan Shelby was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine blocks for Loyalton. Shelby is crushing the block category: he's posted at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Petterson, who scored 15 points.
Herlong dropped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Loyalton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Herlong will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loyalton, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. Princeton will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
