Football Recap: Palmetto Christian Academy Wins High-Profile Game Against Cathedral Academy

Palmetto Christian Academy faced Cathedral Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Palmetto Christian Academy took down Cathedral Academy 44-26. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Palmetto Christian Academy's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

A big part of Palmetto Christian Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Jake Johnson and his top target Caden Beville. Johnson picked up 123 receiving yards and three scores while Beville threw for 188 yards and four TDs on only nine passes. Eli Beville also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Palmetto Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Johnson. Palmetto Christian Academy received some extra help from Landon Provost, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Palmetto Christian Academy's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Cathedral Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.
