Softball Game Preview: Pleasant Plains Cardinals vs. Tri-City Tornadoes

The Pleasant Plains Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Tri-City Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Pleasant Plains' last matchup with Springfield could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Thursday. The Cardinals came up short against the Senators, falling 7-1. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Senators recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Pleasant Plains saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Moore, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Tri-City has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.67 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 10-1 to Auburn.

Pleasant Plains' loss dropped their record down to 17-9-1. As for Tri-City, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-2.

Pleasant Plains came out on top in a nail-biter against Tri-City in their previous meeting last Thursday, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
