Baseball Recap: Sage Creek Has No Trouble Against Union

Sage Creek came into Wednesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Union Titans 13-1 on Wednesday. Sage Creek's victory was all the more impressive since the Titans were averaging only 3.33 runs allowed on the season.

Hudson Jahries looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sage Creek is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Elijah Stephens was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sage Creek is undefeated when Stephens posts one or more home runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Danny O'Bryan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Sage Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Sage Creek back to even at 6-6. As for Union, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Sage Creek Bobcats take on El Camino Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sage Creek's pitchers better be ready for this one: El Camino has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Union, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Skyview at 4:30 p.m. on the 14th. The game will give the Titans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
