Calexico lost against Helix back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bulldogs took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Calexico's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Helix, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calexico will head out to take on Palo Verde Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellow Jackets have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Helix, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mar Vista at 3:30 p.m. on the 18th.
