Football Game Preview: Hollywood Sheiks vs. Mendez Jaguars

The Hollywood Sheiks will face off against the Mendez Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hollywood will be strutting in after a win while Mendez will be coming in after a loss.

Hollywood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Belmont 48-0 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Sheiks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Lucas Gatsiounis had an outrageously good game as he threw for 135 yards and three TDs on only ten passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (143.8). Hollywood's leading receiver Dahsir White was Gatsiounis' top target yet again, picking up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Mendez played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Contreras, falling 55-17. The defeat continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Cobras: they've now lost four in a row.

Mendez's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hollywood, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Hollywood against Mendez in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-0 victory. Will the Sheiks repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
