Baseball Recap: Monache Takes a Loss

After flying high against Foothill last Monday, Monache came back down to earth. Monache fell just short of the Redwood Rangers by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Marauders in their meetings with the Rangers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Brody McCoy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Monache saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lewis Green, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Monache is 3-1 when Green posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

Monache's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Redwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

While Monache had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
