Basketball Game Preview: Bandera BULLDOGS vs. Davenport Wolves

The Bandera BULLDOGS and the Davenport Wolves will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bandera is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.3 points per game this season.

Bandera took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Navarro 42-27.

Elijah Salas and Jeffry Thomas were among the main playmakers for Bandera as the former posted 16 points and five assists and the latter had 12 points and four steals. Salas' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. James Bower was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, Davenport waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 57-50 win over Canyon Lake. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Canyon Lake are ranked 701st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bandera's victory bumped their record up to 20-11. As for Davenport, they have also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season.

Bandera might still be hurting after the 75-55 defeat they got from Davenport in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Davenport's Brandon Castilla, who went 14 of 18 on his way to 32 points and four steals.
