Football Game Preview: La Serna Lancers vs. Santa Fe Chiefs + Official Tickets

La Serna has gone 8-1 against Santa Fe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lancers will host the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, La Serna didn't have too much trouble with El Rancho as they won 30-13. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Dons are ranked 414th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Serna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Armenta, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 131 receiving yards gave Armenta a new career-high. Grady Long was another key signal caller, throwing for 195 yards and two TDs.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something La Serna proved: they limited El Rancho to a paltry -0.7 yards per carry. The Lancers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged six.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against Whittier as they made off with a 34-12 victory. The Chiefs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Santa Fe's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for La Serna, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for La Serna against Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-7 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
