Basketball Game Preview: Midlothian Heritage Jaguars vs. Crandall Pirates

The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Crandall Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Midlothian Heritage duked it out withCorsicana on Tuesday. Midlothian Heritage enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over Corsicana. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Tigers are ranked 818th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Faren Dodd was Midlothian Heritage's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Crandall waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 55-42 win over the Tigers.

Midlothian Heritage has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. As for Crandall, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Midlothian Heritage was able to grind out a solid victory over Crandall in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 36-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midlothian Heritage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
