Softball Recap: Nyack Finds Home Field Redemption Against Suffern

There's no place like home for Nyack, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past the Suffern Mounties 8-1 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Haley Serrano made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Policastro, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Rossiter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Nyack was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Suffern only posted a batting average of .125.

Nyack's record now sits at 6-11. As for Suffern, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Nyack will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mounties: the pair will be back at it again later today.
