Grant Statz's Big Game Leads Haxtun over Akron

Haxtun picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Grant Statz. Statz turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 146 yards on only 15 carries.

Statz and Haxtun will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 25th. Zach Statz and Co. Win Sixth in a Row

Haxtun picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Zach Statz. Statz rushed for 106 yards on only seven carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Statz and Haxtun will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 25th. Akron was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Anderson Filla did his best to prevent it. Nobody could stop Filla as he rushed for 94 yards.

If the past is any indication, Filla could be in store for another big game when he takes on Dayspring Christian Academy on Saturday. Two weeks ago (the last time Filla saw the Eagles), he rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.

Ryland Wolff put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in November of 2023 on Friday. He made four total tackles and defended two passes. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended two passes.

Wolff must have Akron's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Wolff saw the Rams), he forced a fumble and made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Elijah Martin Makes Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Elijah Martin of Dayspring Christian Academy. Martin rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown.

If history really does repeat itself, Martin might just drop another big game when he faces off against Akron on Saturday. When Martin last faced the Rams two weeks ago, he rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown.
