Softball Recap: Allen Takes a Loss

Allen blew Plano East out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Plano East got their revenge. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ady Fincanon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kate Bettge, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Allen has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16-1 record this season. As for Plano East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

While Allen had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
